Lara Allen, MS, LPC
Lara Allen, Licensed Professional Counselor, has been in the mental health field for over ten years and currently heads the treatment team at The Center for Emotional Wellness, LLC. Lara is well experienced in providing counseling services and psychotherapy to troubled adolescents and adults. She has worked in in-patient, outpatient, and correctional settings.
As a therapist, Lara relates well to her clients and has a special interest in helping those who struggle with disordered eating patterns, self injurious behavior, unresolved trauma, behavioral addictions, difficult relationship histories, and personality disorders.
She volunteers time to community organizations educating others on disturbed eating, self injurious behavior, bullying patterns in schools, parenting skills, special issues affecting adolescent girls, relationship improvement, and the development of healthy interpersonal skills. Lara has also provided numerous continuing education seminars for other professionals on eating disorders, self-mutilation, impulsive behavior, substance dependency/abuse and personality disorders.
Lara has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas at Tyler where she graduated in the top of her class, and received several awards for academic excellence. She also received recognition from the School of Psychology for her commitment to promoting increased mental health services for the community.
